As you might have guessed, group counseling is a form of therapy whereby a small group of people meet regularly in order to discuss, interact and explore problems with one another and with the group leader. Most group counseling sessions take place with work colleagues or students, but the technique can be applied to virtually all groups of people. Our job is to run the session, but generally, everyone involved contributes in some way, either by listening to others or by contributing themselves. In most cases, it is focused on a particular issue, such as addiction, but it can also be utilized more generally to work out problems and emotional concerns.
